Start the app and click the Login button. Input the same email address and password used above. Once authenticated, the app will automatically download your .p12 certificate and prompt you for its password. Once everything is setup and configured, the pose, pay, and balance buttons will be enabled.

Pose

This button displays your barcode for scanning. It is how we transmit your identity so others can Pay you. Each time you Pose, we create a unique one-time email address that can be used to transmit they payment (value message) to you for processing.

Pay

The Pay button launches our barcode scanner. Point the camera at the Poser's barcode and wait for the app to take you to the payment screen. On the payment screen fill out the amount (in cents, no decimal point) and optionally add a note. Then press the "Make Payment" button. If your remote certificate is properly setup and a network connection is available, your MintChip account will be debited and a value message for the input amount and mintchip id will be created and attached to an email. Optionally add additional information to this message and press send.

Process

Payment processing occurs when the recipient clicks on the MintChipValueMessage.ecn attachment in the email. This will automatically launch the MintChipMail app and submit the value message for verification. Press the Back button to return to the main menu.

Balance

This button checks and reports the status of your remote MintChip account.

One-time Email

MintChipMail transmits payment using one-time email addresses. Our servers process these messages and forwards them to the confidential email address associated with your account. This communication channel remains open for 1 week, allowing merchants and consumers to anonymously communicate during this time period. After which the channel will be closed and a new value message must be created to re-establish communication.

In addition to the typical payment scenarios, this mechanism can also be used to establish a pay-to-play situation where "experts" or others are consulted and paid for their advice.
